AVIATION

In today’s modern aviation and space vehicles, the materials offering an attractive combination of stiffness, strength and low mass are the main point of interest for engineers and scientists. In general, the materials having high strength-to-weight ratio are part consolidation and design flexibility, corrosion resistance, durable, high impact resistance, requirement for such vehicles. This requirement is met fiber reinforced polymer matrix composite materials which presents good opportunities for the design and production used in the sector. The materials have been used in aerospace in applications such as engine blades, brackets, interiors, nacelles, propellers/rotors, single aisle wings, wide body wings.
While the materials being lightweight enables the vehicles to have lower fuel consumption, higher speed and higher maneuverability, those with high strength and durability make them much safer. Design and analysis of such materials including sandwich structures, honeycombs and structural adhesives are conducted by FERKA, based on scientifically approved and reliable data measured by the company.
